Automation readiness assessment — what to automate first

TL;DR · IN ONE SCREEN

Short version: Not every process should be automated, and the order matters. Download NexFlow's free automation-readiness checklist to score your processes, or book a paid 15-minute map ($50 USD) for a one-page bleed map and fixed quote.

Automate the right things, in the right order

The fastest way to waste an automation budget is to automate a broken or rare process. A readiness assessment finds the workflows that are repetitive, rule-based, high-volume, and painful — the ones that pay back fastest — and flags the ones that need fixing or human judgement first.

Two ways to assess

  • Free checklist (DIY): our automation-readiness checklist (PDF) scores each process on volume, rules, pain, and data quality.
  • Paid 15-minute map ($50 USD): we screenshare, mark every manual step in red, and hand you a one-page bleed map plus a fixed quote — credited if you proceed within 30 days.
  • Deep Map consult (60 min · US$130): a working session, a written automation-opportunity report, and a fixed quote — fee credited if you proceed to a build.

What a good candidate looks like

  • Happens often (daily/weekly) and follows clear rules.
  • Involves copying data between systems by hand.
  • Is painful, error-prone, or blocks something downstream.
  • Has reasonably clean, structured inputs — or inputs we can clean.

Common questions

How do I know if my business is ready to automate?

If you have repetitive, rule-based tasks that move data between systems by hand — and the inputs are reasonably consistent — you are ready. The readiness checklist scores each process so you can rank candidates; a 15-minute map turns the top one into a fixed quote.

Is the readiness assessment free?

The downloadable checklist is free. The paid 15-minute map (US$50) and the 60-minute Deep Map consult (US$130) go deeper and produce a fixed quote; both fees are credited if you proceed with a build within 30 days.

What if automation isn't right for us?

Then we tell you. The whole point of the map is an honest yes/no/‘you don't need us’ — we would rather lose a sale than ship automation that shouldn't exist.
